7 Day Tsavo West & East bad boys Lion Safari

Tsavo West’s rolling hills, thick bush, and volcanic landscape are home to large lion prides, big elephant herds, and exotic birds. Tsavo West became infamous in 1898 when two man-eating lions preyed on and ate 145 Indian migrant workers who built the first railroad from Mombasa to Nairobi. In addition, the park contains the “Big 5”: elephant, lion, leopard, Cape buffalo, and rhino.

Tsavo East’s open plains are scattered with trees, thick brush, and rivers, the hunting ground of lions. Lugard Falls, on the northern end of the park, is an unknown and unusual series of powerful waterfalls, home to crocodiles and hippos. We spotted this lion hunt not even 15 minutes into the park on the way to the lodge.
